Publish on Libera

Libera is a small, quiet place for video — closer to a magazine than a feed. Nothing here is ranked for you, and nothing is hidden from you. If you are deciding whether to put your work here, this page tells you what that actually means.

What you get

  • Your video is not throttled.

The feed is chronological. There is no recommendation engine to please, so there is nothing to game — and nothing that can quietly stop showing your work.

  • Honest signals, not flattering ones.

Dislikes are public. That cuts both ways on purpose: praise means something only where disagreement is also visible.

  • A record you can point at.

Pin a correction to the exact second you got something wrong; it stays with the video. List your sources — if one of them is another Libera video, the citation shows on both ends. Replace a file and the page says so, with the earlier one still online.

  • Your audience is yours.

Every channel has an RSS feed; viewers can follow you without an account. Comments stay in the order they were written, so the first reader is not buried by the loudest. You can export everything you have here, any time.

What is expected

Publish what you would defend in public. When you get something wrong, correct it here rather than quietly re-editing. Answer the questions you can answer, and leave the ones you cannot — an unanswered question is more honest than a filler reply. The community guidelines are short and mean exactly what they say.

What is not here — yet

There is no money: no ads, no memberships, nothing to earn today. The audience is small — small enough that your first video may be read rather than watched by a crowd. Uploads are capped at 1 GB, and there is no adaptive quality yet: your file is served as you sent it, so a heavy one is heavy for the viewer too. A dropped connection also means starting the upload over. We would rather say this now than let you discover it after uploading.

How to start

  1. 1. Create a channel — an email address is enough.
  2. 2. Upload one video you already believe in. A cover and duration are generated for you.
  3. 3. Add your sources, and captions if you have them — captions turn the video into a readable article as well.
